Prayer, with Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is only hours away now. Soon many of us will sit down with family and friends, and, realizing that the bounty before us is the gift of God, we will bow our heads and pray, thanking Him.

Thanksgiving and prayer are linked in the Bible.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; (Philippians 4:6 NKJV)

It is good to give thanks in prayer. The holiday is a good reminder of that truth. So, too, is Wednesday evening prayer meeting (tonight at 6:30), and Men's Prayer Breakfast (Saturday morning at 8:00).

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. (Philippians 4:6 NLT)

Happiest of Thanksgivings!

How?

"How can I say thanks for the things
You have done for me?
Things so undeserved yet you gave
To prove your love for me
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am, and ever hope to be
I owe it all to thee."

... When they believed... They were baptized...

That is a truth peppered throughout the New Testament - when a person is saved, he / she is then baptized. It is the first step of obedience for the newborn Christian.

Well, this coming Lord's Day we are privileged to rejoice with 5 brothers and sisters who will be taking this important step in their Christian walk.

Join us, at 10:30 on Sunday?
