Pray With Us!

This summer is bringing many changes to FBC! Some are permanent, such as the new building we look forward to occupying soon. Some are temporary, such as the disruptions to our weekly schedule during the construction.

This evening may well be the last time we can meet in the building for prayer meeting for a while. Oh, prayer meetings will go on, even through the construction project. Once the building is not usable we will meet in homes, but tonight we pray once again in Fellowship Hall.

Join us? 6:30-7:30 PM.

Truck Is Coming

Thursday morning at 8:00 we have a load of ICF materials coming to the church for the Phase 2 construction project.  We need several men (and boys) to help unload the truck.  This is not heavy work, as the materials are primarily styrofoam, so anybody can be of help.  If you are able to give an hour on Thursday morning, please meet at the church at 8:00 AM.

Moms - It Is Your Day

Join us for our worship service at 10:30 as we honor you ladies on this, your day.

Phase 2 - Dirt Is Flying!

The relocation of the south drive is nearly complete, as is the enlargement of the parking lot to the south. Please use the north drive only until further notice.

And join us for a few minutes after the worship service tomorrow for a brief ground breaking ceremony and prayer.

44 and just getting started

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. (I Timothy 1:15 NKJV)

I've published this same blog posting for the last few years. Each year it gets more precious. Praise the Lord.

It was May 3, 1970. In just 24 hours one of this area's most well-known historical events would occur - the shootings at Kent State University. But on May 3, something happened that didn't make the news, and is unknown to all but a select few now. On that day, a twelve year old boy experienced the most important event in his personal history. That boy was me, and on May 3, 1970, I trusted Christ as my Savior. I am, spiritually, 44 years old today. And so it is a special day as I look back over the journey Christ has led me on so far - a journey that has included both ups and downs, successes and failures, victories and defeats. But one thing is certain. I am more sure today of His love for me than I have ever been. He promised, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5) I can testify after 44 years of walking with Him, that He never has, and He never will.

“Although my memory's fading, I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior.” (John Newton)

It's the First Saturday of the Month

And the first Saturday of the month is a special time at Friendship Bible Church, when we serve the needy and homeless at the Haven of Rest in Akron.  Join us at 10:00.  Meet at the Haven and head for the dining area.  We will set tables, serve food, and do a bit of clean up afterwards.

I am so thankful for a faithful few who serve in this ministry every month.  But so many of our number have never even given it a try.  Why not make this month the month you become a Matthew 25:40 rather than a Mathew 25:45 Christian!

15 Minutes

Real Political Power - CLICK HERE

Join your brothers and sisters as we pray tonight - 5:00-9:00 PM at Friendship Bible Church.

Set aside 15 minutes to come pray.  It will be time well spent.  It will have greater influence than any other thing you might think of doing for this country.

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.(Hebrews 4:16)
