15 Minutes

15 minutes

Will you join us between 6:00-9:00 on Thursday evening, May 1 at Friendship Bible Church?

Join us as we pray for our country... for each other... for our world... for the Kingdom.

15 minutes - that's about as much time as you would spend watching 5 commercials.

Give it to God instead!

15 Minutes Can Change This Country

If it is true that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Eph. 6:12), then we must pray, mustn’t we? Can there be any other way to reach a lost world? Do we really think our plans and programs can bring down dark strongholds of spiritual evil in the heavenly realms? (Ben Patterson)

On Thursday evening, Friendship Bible Church will be open from 5:00 until 9:00 as we join brothers and sisters from around America in the National Day of Prayer.

I am asking for each member of FBC to give just 15 minutes, sometime during that window, and come to the church and pray.  Our goal - our church family praying continuously throughout that evening.  One or more of the elders will be on hand to pray with you, should you desire that.  Or, you can simply pray alone or with your family. There is no program... just prayer.

We've asked people to sign up for a time slot, and seen good response for the 5:00-6:00 hour, but from 6:00-9:00 we have a lot of openings remaining.

Will you come, sometime between 6:00-9:00 and pray for this country... for our world... for the increase of the Kingdom... for your brothers and sisters in Christ?

15 minutes... will you donate it to the cause of Christ?

“Prayer can never be in excess.” —Charles Spurgeon

Good Friday or Good Wednesday?

Every year at Easter, the question resurfaces - what day was Jesus crucified on.  Some say Friday, some say Thursday, and some say Wednesday.

Some years ago I taught a Sunday School class and addressed the issue.  In case you are interested in the answer to the question, I'm re-posting that lesson here.  Even though it is just my raw teaching notes, it may be helpful to some who wonder.

Click here >>>> Was Jesus crucified on a Wednesday or a Friday?

Oh... and if you're wondering the answer but don't have time to read the evidence - He was crucified on a Friday and rose on a Sunday.

Words From the Cross

Join your friends at Friendship Bible Church as we remember the death of our Savior in our Good Friday service.

It was the day Satan lost... the day sin was defeated... the day our brokenness was made whole... the day all our sickness was healed... the day all our sins were atoned... the day all our debt was paid... the day death died.

Friday - 7:00 PM

Haven of Rest

Hey faithful Haven of Rest volunteers, don't forget that this is the first Saturday of the month, when we feed the hungry at the Haven of Rest in Akron. Meet at the Haven at 10:00 and you'll be done by noon. Remember the words of our Lord:

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ (Matthew 25:34-40 NKJV)
